Hay solo una única primera vez para algunas cosas en
la vida. La Expedición Butterfly River es el nombre
que le dimos a la expedición de exploración y
descubrimiento realizada en Noviembre del 2010 y fue
eso, la primera vez que estuvimos allí, un lugar
único y maravilloso profundamente lejano en Cusco,
Perú. Los dos australianos que
vinieron con nosotros fueron los dos primeros
extranjeros nunca antes vistos en la remota
comunidad nativa que visitamos después de diez días
viajando con un vehículo de soporte, bicicletas,
botes por el río y al final un día de caminata muy
exigente a través del bosque de selva virgen más
hermoso nunca antes visto.
Alcanzamos el destino final gracias a la ayuda de
los guías nativos que conocimos en el camino
mientras indagábamos siguiendo las pistas que
teníamos sobre la comunidad Butterfly River (el
nombre verdadero del lugar en idioma nativo no será
revelado para preservar el lugar de la llegada de
intrusos y grupos de turistas, el nombre Butterfly
River no existe en los mapas).
El privilegio de ser los primeros aventureros en llegar a estos
hermosos lugares remotos será reservado solo para un
reducido numero de personas, las que participen en
nuestras próximas expediciones de exploración y
descubrimiento.
Estos viajes solo se repetirán dos veces más después
de la primera expedición con un número limitado de
personas, amantes de la naturaleza y de la aventura
en condiciones de cubrir los gastos y demandas de
tales experiencias únicas, aparte de los
requerimientos básicos tales como buena condición
física, buen estado mental, resistencia, coraje,
tolerancia, actitud positiva y pro-diversión.
Los detalles del viaje, ubicación, ruta, track GPS,
etc., no serán revelados públicamente a fin de
preservar estos lugares de la cantidad de visitantes
indeseados que podrían venir detrás de nosotros y
para mantener intactos la naturaleza y la cultura
nativa original.

Expedition I
There is only one
unique first time for some things in life. The
Butterfly River Expedition was
the name we put to the explore and discovery
expedition we did in November 2010, and it was that,
the first time we had ever been there, a unique and
wonderful place somewhere deep away in Cusco, Peru. The globetroopers Lauren & Todd,
two Australians coming with us were the first two
foreigners ever seen at the remote native community
we reached after ten days traveling with a support
vehicle, bikes and a final extremely demanding full
day trek through the most beautiful untouched virgin
forest ever seen.
The final destination was reached thanks to the
knowledge from the native guides we met on the way
while we were asking directions following the clues
we previously had about the Butterfly River
community (the real name in native language won't be
revealed, Butterfly River doesn’t exist so named on
maps, this is to preserve the site from intruders
and big groups of tourists).
The privilege
of being the first adventurer reaching these beautiful
remote sites will be reserved for just few
people, the ones joining our next explore and
discovery expeditions.
These trips
will be repeated just two more times after the
first expedition with a limited number of
people, adventure and nature lovers in condition
to afford the expenses and demands of such an unique
experience aside from the basic requirements
such as fitness, good mental condition,
toughness, endurance, tolerance, positive
attitude and love for fun.
The details
of the trip, location, route, GPS track, etc.,
won't be revealed in public in order to preserve
these sites free of the stream of undesired
visitors that would follow us and to keep intact
nature and original native culture. |

Información general
Itinerario:
Cusco – Moray – Maras – Santa María – Santa Teresa –
Machu Picchu – Ollantaytambo – Butterfly River –
Cusco.
Este es un viaje especial donde se vivirán
oportunidades únicas de aventura real. La ruta la
hemos descubierto nosotros en noviembre del 2010.
El recorrido incluye
actividades de mountain bike, river rafting, canopy
zipline y hiking.
Después de la prueba y experiencia de la
primera expedición algunos aspectos de la
organización han sido mejorados para las
Expediciones II y III. Los detalles del itinerario se mantienen en
reserva y solo se revelarán a las personas que se
registren para la expedición. Están incluidas las
mayores atracciones de Cusco tales como Machu
Picchu, secciones del Inka Trail y Valle Sagrado de
los Inkas.
Asimismo, mantendremos en reserva la información de
su ubicación y otros detalles para proteger el lugar
de la invasión de grandes cantidades de turistas,
para proteger la naturaleza virgen e intacta de la
zona y para la preservación de la cultura nativa.
El segundo viaje que
haremos a la zona será del 26 de Junio al 8 de Julio
2011. Solo se repetirá una vez más y la ruta quedará
cerrada para siempre para mantener el lugar intacto,
tal como lo hallamos la primera vez. El tercer y
último viaje será del 17 al 29 de Julio 2011
Importante:
Los participantes deberán tener presente que
su presencia en el lugar tiene un efecto
intercultural muy importante para las personas de
las comunidades nativas que vamos a visitar.
Por esa razón cada participante debe considerar
llevar para los niños de las escuelas de esos
pueblos regalos y donaciones que pueden ser: útiles
escolares, alimentos, dulces, ropa, juguetes, etc.
Estas cosas se pueden
comprar en los mercados del Cusco.
Este no es un viaje de
lujo o de turismo, esta es una expedición de
aventura e implica conocer los detalles y principios
de las experiencias fuera de serie organizadas por
Perucycling.

General information
Itinerary:

This a special journey where unique real
adventure opportunities are going to be experienced,
the route has been discovered and traced by us on
Discovery Expedition I on november 2010. The trip
includes activities such as mountain biking, river
rafting, canopy zipline and hiking
After the first experience test and feedback
some features on the expedition organization has
been upgraded for Expeditions II & III. Detailed information of the itinerary is
confidential and will be revealed to the persons
signed up for the expedition only. The major
highlights of Cusco such as Machu Picchu, sections
of the Inka Trail and Sacred Valley are included.
We keep all relevant information such as
location and other details in secret to protect the
site against big numbers of tourists and intruders,
to protect the intact nature status of wilderness in
the area and to preserve native culture.
The second trip to the area will be
from June 26th to July 8th 2011. And this will be
repeated only once more then the route will be
closed forever to preserve intact nature as we found
it on Expedition I. The last final trip will be from
July 17th to 29th 2011.
Important:
All participants must have in mind that the
visit of foreigners in the area has a very important
intercultural effect on the people from the native
communities we are going to visit. For that reason
each participant must consider to bring to the
children of the schools on those villages gifts and
donations such as: notebooks and pencils, food,
candies, clothing, toys, etc.
All these things can be
purchased in the markets in Cusco on day 1 upon
arrival.
This is not a tourist luxury trip, this an
adventure expedition and it implies to know the
details and principles about the “Off the beaten
trail experiences” organized by Perucycling.

Realmente no estamos
interesados en dinero, lo que nos interesa es
vivir experiencias fuera de serie reales junto
con las personas que están en condiciones de
vivir la aventura
con nosotros y de pagar el costo
de esta experiencia única. El precio es
sencillamente la cantidad de dinero que se
necesita en primer lugar para
pagar bien y de manera generosa y justa por el
trabajo de las personas que contratamos de las
comunidades nativas que nos ayudan, por el de
las personas de nuestra organización y el costo
de los materiales y de los servicios necesarios
en la operación de la expedición.

interested in living real off the beaten trail
experiences together with the ones in condition to
live this adventure with us

the native communities going to help us, for the
work of our staff and the cost of materials and
