Inicio en Arequipa.
Final del viaje en Camaná.
Esta ruta ofrece extraordinarias experiencias en el
valle del Colca más la oportunidad única de seguir
el curso de sus aguas hasta el mar recorriendo en
bicicleta y con vehículo de soporte 4x4 los valles
de Majes y Camaná por los caminos no convencionales
de este viaje de descubrimiento.
El viaje por el valle del Colca es a través de
hermosos paisajes naturales de una belleza escénica
única y visitando tranquilos y pintorescos pueblos
andinos que conservan intactos sus tradiciones y
costumbres. Tierras de gente buena, amable,
generosa y hospitalaria y territorio de vuelo de
majestuosos cóndores. Excelente oportunidad de
contacto vivencial cercano con el medio ambiente
andino y su gente.
En la zona del valle de Majes visitaremos el
fabuloso yacimiento de Petroglifos de Toromuerto.
En la zona del valle de Camaná recorremos caminos de
herradura y cruzamos el río varias veces de un lado
al otro visitando las comunidades rurales y los
ranchos de pescadores de camarones que mantienen su
estilo de vida aisladas de la civilización.
Día 1. Arequipa – Cabanaconde
Partida temprano de Arequipa en bus hasta Patapampa,
el punto más alto de toda la ruta, 4837 m.s.n.m.
donde se inicia el descenso en bicicleta hasta
Chivay de donde iniciamos la ruta por el camino
rural de la margen derecha del valle pasando por los
pueblos de Coporaque, en Yanque paramos a almorzar y
descansar un rato en los baños termales. Seguimos
por Ichupampa, Lari y Pinchollo hasta Cabanaconde.
Hospedaje en Cabanaconde 3***
Día 2.
Cabanaconde – Cruz del Condor – Huambo - Pedregal Desayuno muy temprano. Traslado al Mirador Cruz del
Condor para observar el vuelo majestuoso de las aves más
grandes del mundo. Traslado en los vehículos de soporte 4x4
hasta Pedregal vía Huambo. En el camino conoceremos varios
aspectos muy interesantes de esta ruta, como el monumental
acueducto trasandino del proyecto de irrigación Majes -
Siguas que atraviesa las montañas 50k para llevar las aguas
del río Colca a las pampas de Siguas. Pasaremos por Pampa
Querque a 4300m desde donde se observa el volcán Ampato y
volcanes enanos, también pasaremos por el sitio arqueológico
Wari en Huacan. Llegaremos a Pedregal por la tarde.
Hospedaje en un albergue local.
Día 3. Pedregal – Toro Muerto – Corire.
Temprano reiniciamos la marcha en bicicleta por la carretera
que cruza el territorio del proyecto de irrigación
Majes-Siguas hasta su límite con el desierto andino de
Arequipa donde seguimos por el antiguo camino a Majes
atravesando sobre los 1,200 m.s.n.m. la pampa seca y arenosa
cuyo paisaje de aspecto lunar inspira nuevas y contrastadas
sensaciones. La travesía por el desierto arequipeño termina
en la apacheta ubicada en una cumbre de las altas laderas de
la margen izquierda del valle de Majes, aquí se inicia un
lento descenso en zigzag hasta unirse a la carretera que
conduce a Corire. Este camino de bajada está en desuso y
varios tramos se hallan cubiertos por rocas y arena,
atravesarlo demora un poco. En Punta Colorada, a orillas del
río Majes descansamos y almorzamos deliciosos platos
preparados en base a camarones. Por la tarde, camino a
Corire, visitamos el impresionante sitio arqueológico de
petroglifos de Toro Muerto. Pasamos la noche en un albergue
local en Corire.
Día 4. Corire – Camaná
Partimos temprano de Corire. Desayunamos
camarones en Punta Colorada y continuamos de bajada por el
valle siguiendo el camino hasta Paican donde termina la
trocha carrozable y sigue un camino de herradura que alterna
subidas y tramos estrechos por las laderas rocosas con
bajadas y tramos por la orilla del río el cual se cruza en
varios puntos, en algunos a través de puentes rústicos de
palos “pasamanos” y en otros vadeándolo. Esta ruta alterna
tramos pedaleando, caminando y porteando la bici. Pasamos
por el punto denominado Paloparado que marca la frontera
entre las provincias de Castilla y Camaná. El recorrido nos
lleva a través de pequeños caseríos rurales y ranchos de
pescadores de camarones asentados en las orillas del río
hasta Socso, a donde llegan los carros de Camaná. Aquí
empieza nuevamente la trocha carrozable mayormente de bajada
pasando por los pueblos de Sonay, Pisques, Characta,
Pampata, San Gregorio y finalmente llegamos a la costa del
Océano Pacífico en Camaná donde termina esta aventura, desde
aquí se puede viajar en los vehículos de soporte 4x4 hacia
Arequipa o tomar un bus hacia Lima.
Incluye:

hoteles 3***(ocupación doble - triple), bicicleta, casco,

This adventure bike trip on the Colca valley is an
unique and extraordinary experience following the
Colca river waters from the high Andean lands down
to the Pacific ocean on bikes and with 4x4 support
vehicle by ancient off the beaten path trails.
The journey along the Colca valley is through
landscapes of superb scenic beauty and visiting
quiet and nice andean villages that preserve intact
their costumes and traditions. These are lands
of kind, generous and hospitable people and of the
majestic flying condors. This is an excellent
opportunity for a close contact with the real life
of the Andes and its people.
In the Majes
valley will visit the amazing Toro Muerto pethroglyphs
deposit. In the Camana valley the ride goes by ancient
trails and cross the river several times from one side to
the other by handcrafted wooden bridges, visit the rural
communities and the fresh water shrimp fishermen settlements
still living their old life style away from modern
civilization.
Day 1. Arequipa – Cabanaconde
Early departure from Arequipa by bus up to
Patapampa the highest point of the trip at 4837 m.a.s.l.
where the ride starts downhill heading to Chivay and on to
Coporaque and Yanque, here rest stop for re-vitalizing hot
springs bath and lunch. In the afternoon the trip continues
by the right side of the valley to Ichupampa, Lari,
Pinchollo and finally Cabanaconde. Accommodation in 3***
hotel.
Day 2. Cabanaconde – Cruz del cóndor –
Pedregal. After early breakfast, the ride is to
go up to Cruz del Condor observing site, to watch right over
our heads the amazing fly of several of the biggest birds in
the world. After the Condor watching session the trip
continues on the 4x4 support vehicle to Pedregal via Huambo,
on the way we will see several interesting features of this
part of Peru such as the monumental Trans-Andean aqueduct
that takes water from the Colca valley to Majes-Siguas
irrigation project 50k through the rocky core of the
mountains. At Pampa Querque located at 4300m will see Ampato
volcano and two more small volcanoes. At Huacan will see the
Wari archaeological. Arrival Pedregal in the afternoon.
Accommodation in a local basic lodge.
Day 3.
Pedregal - Toro Muerto - Corire Early morning
cycling starts over across the lands of the monumental
Majes-Siguas irrigation project up to the border with the
desert to find the begining of the journey along the ancient
road through the moon like landscape of this dry, arid and
sandy region. This section of the ride is an unforgettable
experience. The cruise of the desert at 1,200 m.a.s.l. ends
at the "apacheta" an ancient landmark on a summit on top of
the high slopes of the left side hills of the Majes valley.
Here begins a winding downhill by this old road of which
several sections are partially blocked by rocks and sand
making the ride slow until it meets the paved main road
leading to Corire. On the paved road rest stop for lunch at
Punta Colorada, famous place for its delicious fresh water
shrimps meals. In the afternoon visit to the impressive Toro
Muerto petroglyphs site. At Corire rest and stay overnight
in a local lodge.
Day 4: Corire - Camaná
This is the most intense day of the whole
expedition. Early departure from Corire. Breakfast at Punta
Colorada and cycling downhill along the valley dirt road
until it ends at Paican. From here follows a singletrack
through the valley alternating ascends and descends, some
sections narrow on the hillsides and others wide on the
river shores. The river is crossed many times from one side
to the other using either rustic crafted wooden bridges or
just passing through shallow water or carriying the bike.
This route leads through the lands of small rural
settlements of fresh water shrimps fishermen down to Socso.
This is the final spot of the road that leads cars from
Camana. Here cycling again mainly downhill by the road
passing by Sonay, Pisques, Characta, Pampata, San Gregorio
and finally Camaná, where the tour ends. From Camaná is
possible to take a bus to go to Arequipa, Nazca, Ica or
Lima.

triple occupancy), mechanic assistance and first aid.

Día 1. Transporte privado de Lima
a Puerto Inca. La partida también puede ser de otros
puntos: Paracas, Nasca, Arequipa, etc.
Día 2. Llegada temprano en la
mañana a Puerto Inca, en la zona hay increíbles
lugares para pedalear, lleno de historia, flora
y fauna. Alojamiento en el hotel Puerto Inka en
habitaciones privadas. Tiempo libre para descanso.
A las 3:00 pm salimos en bicicleta a hacer el primer
recorrido de unas 2 horas para visitar la zona
arqueológica cercana al norte del hotel, descenso a
la pequeña playa cerca a las casas inkas cerca a la
orilla del mar y para admirar el paisaje y observar
la puesta del sol. Noche en el hotel
Día 3. En la mañana salimos a
recorrer durante unas 3 horas las lomas de Atiquipa,
estas son las lomas más grandes del mundo con una
gran riqueza natural paisajística, de flora y de
fauna, también visitamos el pueblo del mismo
nombre. La tarde es libre para descanso y relax.
Noche en en el hotel. (Este día se puede suprimir en
el tour de 4 días / 3 noches)
Día 4.
Este día es el más fuerte de todos. Salimos muy
temprano para atravesar las lomas y visitar el sitio
arqueológico de Cahuamarca ubicado en la cima de las
lomas a 1,264 m.s.n.m. sobre el camino inca que
comunica Puerto Inca con el Cusco. Esta era la ruta
utilizada por los chaskis para llevar pescado fresco
al emperador Inca desde la costa. La vista
panorámica desde este lugar es espectacular. Retorno
y noche en el hotel.
Día 5.
Día de salida y viaje de retorno a Lima o a Arequipa
Incluye : Transporte privado,
guías, bicicleta montañera hardtail, hospedaje en el
hotel Puerto Inka con desayuno incluido, casco y
protecciones, snacks, agua/bebida rehidratante,
asistencia mecánica, botiquín y primeros auxilios.
La alimentación no está incluida en el precio
del tour, el hotel local ofrece servicio de
restaurant y en el pueblo de Atiquipa hay tiendas

Day 1. Private transportation from Lima to Puerto Inca.
The trip can start from other sites: Paracas, Nasca,
Arequipa, etc.
Day 2. Early arrival at Puerto Inca,
the area is a beautiful
place for cycling in lands rich in history and
nature. Accommodation in the local hotel in private
rooms. Rest time.
At 3 pm. first bike ride for 2 hours approx., from
the hotel site up to the northern ruins zone and down
to the small beach, a nice descent leading to the
inca houses by the sea shore. Impressive views and
good opportunity for sunset watching. Overnight in
the hotel.
Day 3. Early departure for a bike ride across the
Lomas de Atiquipa, these are the biggest lomas in the world and rich
in archaeological rests, flora and fauna. We are
going to visit
the local town too. Cycling time: 3 hours approx. Afternoon is
open time for free activities. Overnight in the
hotel. (This day can be skipped on the 4 days / 3
nights tour)
Day 4. This is the most demanding journey. Early
departure for a super ride through the lomas heading
uphill to visit the impressive Cahuamarca inca site
on the top of the lomas at 1264 m.a.s.l., this site
was used as
lodge and watching place on the inca trail
connecting to Cusco. This trail was used to bring
fresh fish to the inka emperor from the sea.
Breathtaking superb
panoramic views from this spot are amazing. Return
and overnight in the hotel.
Day 5. Check out day and
departure to either Lima or Arequipa.
Sun, pure air, nature, relax,
landscapes, typical foods, good climate, freedom,
camping, trekking.
